Modi is the first Prime Minister of India who was born in 'Independent India', i.e. after August 15, 1947. He is also the first Indian Prime Minister whose mother was alive when he took office. He holds the record of winning the Lok Sabha seat by the highest margin (about 5.70 lakh votes).
Narendra Damodardas Modi is the 14th Prime Minister of India. Who led the Bharatiya Janata Party to impressive victories in 2014 and again in 2019. An interesting fact about Modi is that he became the Chief Minister of Gujarat for the first time as an MLA. Similarly, he became the Prime Minister of India directly as an MP for the first time. Modi is credited for BJP's majority victory in 2014 and this happened for the first time since 1984.
Early Life of Narendra Modi
Narendra Modi was born on 17 September 1950 in Vadnagar Mehsana district. Narendra Modi's father's name is Damodardas Moolchand Modi and mother's name is Hiraben Modi.
Narendra Modi's father was a simple Teli caste man. Who had 6 children in which the third was Narendra Modi. Narendra Modi used to set up a tea stall at the railway station with his father. He was very fond of reading and according to his teacher he was a skilled orator.
No one could hold Narendra Modi in the debate. Modi had completed his studies from a school in Vadnagar and graduated in Political Science from the University of Gujarat in 1980. At that time he was also an RSS pracharak. Narendra Modi's childhood was spent in extreme poverty. His father had a tea stall and his mother used to clean utensils in others' homes. Food for two times was also very difficult to get. Modi himself had told all these things while talking to Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook in America.
Modi ji spent his childhood in a very small and raw house. His life was very struggling, he had seen many ups and downs in his childhood.
Narendra Modi used to be very much influenced by saints and saints since childhood. And he considered Swami Vivekananda as his ideal. He wanted to become a sanyasi since childhood.
Modi left home in 1967 at the age of 17 after schooling to become a sanyasi. During this, he roamed in many places including Ramakrishna Ashram in West Bengal. And spent many years in the Himalayas.
After returning from the Himalayas, he along with his brother set up a tea shop in Ahmedabad. and worked there for several months. He sold tea, enduring every difficulty.
At the age of 18, Narendra Modi was married by his mother to Jasoda Ben, a resident of Rajosana village in Banskatha district. But he did not want to live in family bondage, so Modi left the house again after a few days of marriage.
And a few days later, Narendra Modi became a pracharak of the Sangh. When Narendra Modi lived in Ahmedabad Sangh Headquarters, he used to do all the small work there like cleaning, tea making, cooking and washing clothes of elderly leaders. You can get an idea of the great democracy of India from the fact that any person, no matter how poor or of any caste, can reach the prime minister or any high position.

Narendra Modi's tenure as Chief Minister:-
In 2001, there was a terrible earthquake in Gujarat and there was huge destruction in the whole of Gujarat. Not being happy with the relief work of the Gujarat government, senior BJP leaders made Narendra Modi the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Modi handled the relief work very efficiently and made Gujarat strong again. Modi ji made Gujarat the best state of India. He brought electricity to every village of Gujarat.
When Modi became the Chief Minister, there was a lot of water scarcity in Gujarat, there was drought in many areas. Modi did a very commendable job to end this water problem, he connected all the rivers of Gujarat with each other, it happened that the rivers which used to dry up quickly started having water throughout the year. For the first time in the country, all the rivers of a state were connected, which removed the water shortage in the entire state.
Asia's largest solar park was built in Gujarat. All the villages of Gujarat were connected to the internet and tourism was also promoted. During Modi's tenure, unemployment in Gujarat has come down significantly and the security of women has been strengthened. Due to these reasons, the people of Gujarat appointed Modi as their Chief Minister for four consecutive terms from 2001 to 2014.
Narendra Modi's tenure as Prime Minister
1st term (2014-2019)
Narendra Modi was elected as the 14th Prime Minister of India on 21 May 2014. Modi was sworn in as the Prime Minister of India on 26 May 2014. He became the first Prime Minister born after India's independence from the British Empire. Second Term (2014--- )
On 23 May 2019, Narendra Modi was once again elected as an MP from Varanasi. He defeated Congress leader Ajay Rai from Varanasi seat in the Lok Sabha elections. With this victory, he was again elected the Prime Minister of India.
On 30 May 2019, Narendra Modi again took oath as the Prime Minister and expanded the cabinet on 31 May. Apart from the PMO, the Department of Atomic Energy, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Space and all those ministries should be kept with themselves, which were not allotted to any other minister. The second term is going on right now, not much time has passed but in this short time a lot of big things have been done like removing Article 370, 35A, making Jammu and Kashmir a union territory, separating Ladakh etc.
Narendra Modi's plans
During the tenure of 2014 till now, Modi ji started many important schemes. The information about some of which is as follows –
1: Make in India-
Make in India was launched on 25 September 2014. After coming to power, Prime Minister Modi did some very important campaigns, one of them was the 'Make in India' campaign. Under which work was done for their development by encouraging the manufacturing sector.
2: Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana-
Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana was launched on 15 August 2014. This plan was completed in two phases. The first phase ran from 15 August 2014 to 14 August 2015, and the second phase ran from 15 August 2015 to 14 August 2018. This scheme was started to open accounts in banks of every person in the country. Under which accounts were opened for all for free. The assistance amount given to the poor and farmers was directly deposited in their bank account. Due to which those who ate the money of the poor in the middle were wiped out.
3: Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana-
Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was launched on 1 May 2016. Under this scheme, LPG gas cylinders were provided to the women of poor families. This scheme can be considered very successful because today cylinders have reached every house in India. Due to which our mothers and sisters do not have to worry about smoke like before.
4: Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana-
This scheme was launched on 1st July 2015. Under this scheme, crops can be irrigated well and agricultural work can get a better direction. So this scheme was started.
5: Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana -
This scheme was launched on 13 January 2016. In this scheme, farmers were provided insurance for the crop. So that if their crops get damaged due to natural calamities, then they can get insurance money.
6: Swachh Bharat Abhiyan-
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched on 2 October 2014. This campaign was started on a large scale in India, under which lakhs of toilets were constructed in the country and in rural areas.
7: Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana-
This scheme was launched on 15 July 2015. Under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, the facility of training was given to the youth for skill development.
8: Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana -
This scheme was done on 4th December 2014. The objective of the Prime Minister to start this scheme was to provide financial assistance to young girls for their empowerment. Under this scheme, the account of girl child below 10 years can be opened.
9: Digital India Program-
This scheme was launched on 1st July 2015. The Prime Minister started this program and inspired to digitize the economy in the country. Along with this, he also appealed to the people to use digital technology. Since then till now, India has been developing very fast in digital. And in this program, Reliance Jio has a big contribution with the general public because before the arrival of Jio, the data was very expensive, so the general public could not use the Internet much.
10: Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana was launched on 25 June 2015. Under this scheme, 260,000 rupees are given in installments to the poor to build their own house. Due to this, today the villages or cities of the country where there were earlier kutcha houses, today their pucca houses are visible.
In this way, Narendra Modi ji has run many other important schemes and campaigns like Namami Gange, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yojana, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, etc., during his tenure so far, which were completely for the development of the country.
Main work done by Narendra Modi-
Modi ji took many important decisions as both the Chief Minister and Prime Minister of Gujarat, and some of the decisions taken during his tenure are as follows-
1: Ground Water Conservation Project -
During his rule as Chief Minister of Gujarat, the government supported the construction of the groundwater conservation project. This helped in the cultivation of cotton, which could be irrigated by tap wells. Thus Gujarat became the largest producer of cotton.
2: Demonetisation-
During the first term of Prime Minister Modi, a very important decision like demonetisation was taken. Under which Modi ji stopped the old notes of 500 and 1000 and in its place issued new notes of 2000 and 500. This was a historic decision taken by Modi ji.
3: GST-
Shortly after demonetisation, Narendra Modi merged all the taxes that were levied in the country together and implemented one tax GST i.e. Goods and Services Tax. There was a lot of difficulty in understanding this tax system in the beginning, but now this decision is proving beneficial for the country. There is also a demand to add petroleum products to the GST so that the price of petrol and diesel will also come down.
4: Surgical Strike-
After the Uri attack in 2016, Prime Minister Modi decided to conduct surgical strikes with the Indian Army to teach a lesson to Pakistan. So the army entered Pakistan without any loss and after eliminating many terrorists and their camps there, they returned to their border safely.
5: Air Strike-
After the Pulwama attack in 2019, Modi gave a free hand to all the security forces of the country to take any kind of action against Pakistan, which was a big announcement. After this an air strike was done by the Air Force.

9: Modi ji has also played an important role in works like bringing bullet train to India in collaboration with Japan.

Narendra Modi has achieved the following achievements in his life so far –
1: In a survey conducted by India Today Magazine in 2007, Modi ji was selected as the best Chief Minister of the country.
2: He was honored as the Asian winner of the FDI Personality of the Year award in 2009 by FD Magazine.
3: After this, the photo of Modi ji was printed on the cover page of Times Asian Edition released in March 2012.
4: In 2014, Modi ji's name was ranked 15th in the list of most powerful people in the world in Forbes Magazine.
5: In 2015, Modi ji was named among the 13 most influential people in the world in Bloomberg Market Magazine. And he was named as the second most followed politician among the 30 Most Influential People on Twitter and Facebook in the Internet list released by Time magazine this year.
6: In 2014 and 2016, Modi ji's name was announced as the winner of Time Magazine's readership survey.
7: On 3 April 2016, Modi ji was given Saudi Arabia's highest civilian award Abdulaziz-Al-Saud. And on 4 June 2016, Afghanistan's highest civilian award 'Ghazi Amir Amanullah Khan' was given.
8: In 2014, 2015 and 2017 also, Modi's name was included in Time Magazine's 100 most influential people in the world. And in 2015, 2016 and 2018, the name of Modi ji was included in Forbes Magazine among the 9 most powerful people in the world.
9: On 10 February 2018, Modi was honored with the 'Grand Kolar of the State of Palestine', Palestine's highest civilian award for foreign dignitaries.
10: On 27 September 2018, Narendra Modi ji was presented with the Champions of Earth Award. Which is the United Nation's highest environmental honor and this award was also presented to 5 other individuals and organizations. Who pledged to lead the International Solar Alliance and to eliminate the use of plastic by 2022.
11: In 2018, on 24 October, Modi was awarded the Seoul Peace Prize for his contribution to promoting international cooperation and global economic development.
12: Last year on 22 February 2019, Modi ji received the prestigious Seoul Peace Prize. And at the same time, Modi's name was also nominated for last year's Nobel Peace Prize for launching the world's largest healthcare scheme.

When Narendra Modi was elected as the Prime Minister, he gave 40 lakh rupees to the working poor people for the marriage of their daughters.
